On Monday, January 16, I was the featured poet at Poetry Night in Bellingham, WA.
Those folks love their poetry! Just check out the website for Poetry Night. Before my show, I did an interview with Robert Lashley, professionally organized by Andrew Cole. The podcast of this interview and the feature should be up on their website any day now.
I was lucky to feature at Poetry Night during their brief time at the Idiom Theatre, a cozy black box with poor heat and great lighting. The best thing about Poetry Night is that you read for a room full of folks who truly love poetry. Bring your most compelling and challenging work and they will love you for it.
And, can I just say…best picture of Bob Huston ever!
If any of you in the slam world want to know where the famous Jack McCarthy is hiding out, he is almost always found at Poetry Night. Here he is talking to a great WA state poet, Ken Warfel.
I heard some excellent work in Bellingham and, as always, felt incredibly welcomed and well loved. I recommend this reading to you touring poets. It is a great community of writers.
