Mahogany L. Browne at UW Tacoma

Last night I went to University of Washington at Tacoma to see Mahogany Browne- poet, friend, slammaster at the Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe perform.

Mo Browne at UWT

A student from UWT (who was great, but whose name I can’t remember) read two poems and Robert Lashley from Bellingham was the opener. Robert was the best I’ve ever seen him. I’ve always liked Robert’s work, but he really threw down last night.

Mahogany Browne was sensational! I think she is underappreciated in poetry slam nationally. Her writing was nearly flawless and her performance couldn’t have been better. Mahogany is definitely a master of the art form and a master at making a crowd love her. She was as powerful, graceful and charismatic as any poet I’ve seen do a one-poet show. Gorgeous!

This show was thanks to the hard work of Emily and Star at UWT. Thanks to you both!

You didn’t miss your chance to see her. Mahogany will feature tonight at the Seattle Poetry Slam. Tonight is a semi-final slam featuring ten poets. THIS IS THE SHOW TO SEE! It’s going to be a blood bath. Poets are going to be pulling off their arms and swinging them at one another.

Also, I will be featuring at UWT in early March!

You are all that and a bag of chips. Good Chips. Not the cheap fattening stuff, the good chips you get at the health food store, the stuff that goes really well with dip.
