Seattle Youth Novelist Project

Welcome to the Seattle Youth Novelist Project created by Karen Finneyfrock.

This project is intended to provide Seattle youth writers with mentorship and individual feedback on their novels-in-progress. Because of the nature of the attention each writer’s work will receive, only four writers will be selected for the project this year.

Qualified Applicants Should:

  • Live in Seattle
  • Be age 13-19
  • Be working on a novel (at least 30 pages written)
  • Be available to meet with author Karen Finneyfrock at least three times (in-person or online) between June-October, 2016
  • Be available to give a public reading of their work in October at Youngstown Cultural Arts Center. You’ll be paid for your performance!
  • Apply by May 30,2016

If I receive an overwhelming response, I will select writers based on commitment, diversity, and arts access, prioritizing writers with less access to arts education. Applicants will be notified in June.

This project is supported by the City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture
